I loved photographing this brother and sister! They have such sweet dispositions and were such a pleasure to photograph. I adore this darling girl's adorable curls and what a handsome guy big brother is! Mom and Dad must be so proud of their kiddos! Here are a few faves from their session . . .

This year we did our 2nd Annual "Have a Heart" campaign and it was so fun to see familiar faces return and meet some new ones! All of the proceeds from these sessions benefit Preemptive Love Coalition, which provides lifesaving heart surgeries to children in Iraq who have no other options for medical care. It also gives hands-on training to local doctors and nurses in the hopes of creating a sustainable medical solution. Their tagline is, "Lifesaving heart surgeries for Iraqi children in pursuit of peace between communities at odds", and I am so proud to be able to provide even a little support through our community.
We had so many absolutely adorable children come for their mini-sessions over the course of two days and I loved working with each of them! Here are a few favorites from these sessions! Many, many thanks to the parents who brought their children out for such a great cause!

One of the very best parts of my job is getting to see little ones grow up. It is such a sweet thing to get to see their little personalities blossom and evolve and to have the honor to be a part of their lives through the process. Last week, I was so fortunate to photograph a pair of twins that were in my studio three years ago! They have grown so much and are such dolls!

I loved working with this couple! I knew their session was going to be awesome when the sweet momma said she'd found a fabulous dress that, while not very warm, she would don in the thirty-degree morning air of December for the sake of fashion. LOVE IT! This couple was absolutely adorable and braved the cold like a pair of champs. I can't wait to meet their sweet baby in just a couple of weeks!

I am so excited to feature Margo Proctor on our blog today! She is the owner of a little store you might have heard of . . . Sweet P's! If you need a special gift this holiday season, I couldn't reccommend another store more.
Hi Margo! Thanks so much for taking the time to share with our readers! Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and your business?
I've been married 37 years and I have two children & two grandchildren. I've lived in B'ville almost all of my life. I graduated from Oklahoma State University. I started Sweet P's because I was just tired of working for other people and I wanted a little gift shop. I named my boutique Sweet P's because my last name starts with a P and because I was born in April and sweet peas are the april flower.
I love going into Sweet P's! What would you say makes your shop so special?
I think it's the personal touch . . . the unique items combined with the boutique atmosphere. We try to make every purchase special. If they need it gift-wrapped, we gift wrap for free. We're the only gift shop in town that offers Bridal Registry. We also love being part of the downtown community.
Do you have any particularly exciting things in the store for the holidays?
We are inundated with Christmas decorations. We have lots of gift ideas, wonderful stocking stuffers. Some of our best sellers are Brighton Jewelry and Tyler Candles. We also carry a lot of lamps and home decor items that are especially beautiful at this time of year.
Where can our readers find you?
We are located at 109 SE Frank Phillips Blvd in downtown bartlesville. You can also visit us on the web at www.sweetps-gifts.com! Be sure to like Sweet P's of Bartlesville on Facebook.
Thanks Margo for taking the time to share with our readers!

I am so excited to feature Donna Skelly on our blog today! She is such an amazing community leader and I am impressed with both her professional achievements and graciousness! When I asked her to share a little with our readers about herself and her business, she kindly obliged. I know you all will enjoy getting to know her as much as I have!
Welcome to the Emily Potts Photography blog Donna! Can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and your business? Thank you for the opportunity to be featured on your blog, Emily. You have a great idea and are doing an excellent job promoting your business! In answer to your question, I am a native of Colorado Springs and came to Bartlesville to attend what is now Oklahoma Wesleyan University. My husband Roger was also a student there, and we were married in 1971. He became a homebuilder and encouraged (pushed) me to become a Realtor so he could save money on the homes he sold. I became a Realtor in 1984. Although it was not a career I would have chosen originally, it has become a love and passion. I started working for Ernie McAnaw and Ron Wright when our company was called McAnaw and Wright, Realtors. Ron later moved to Arizona, and the company became McAnaw and Company, Realtors. Unfortunately, Ernie became ill with cancer and needed to sell. Once again, I would not have chosen to become the broker/owner of a real estate company, but we bought the company in 2002. It was clearly a "God-thing," and in spite of the peaks and valleys, I have thoroughly enjoyed it.
What is the most rewarding thing about working in real estate? The most rewarding thing from the perspective of acting as a broker/owner is the fun of leading a tremendous group of real estate professionals to further their careers. I love "pushing," encouraging, and opening doors to further their personal and professional development, and they have responded by working even harder and becoming a real team who sincerely care about each other. From the perspective of working with buyers and sellers, I find it extremely rewarding to help people navigate their way through the maze of the buying/selling process. Of course, I may be a little biased, but I think using a real estate professional to help is essential to make sure everything is done properly in order to avoid pitfalls and disasters. From the perspective of a seller, we provide invaluable marketing services.
What makes McAnaw & Company Realtors such a great agency? What makes your realtors so especially equipped to work with those who are buying or selling their homes? I think we are a great agency because we work hard to put our clients' interests first. I have worked with Realtors in the past who just wanted to sell as many houses as they could, without regard for what was best for the buyer or seller. We educate our buyers and sellers about property values, staging, and market conditions. We walk with them and hold their hands through the complexities of their real estate transaction. Our company constantly provides education for our Realtors about mortgage financing, contract law, technology, and marketing--all within the context of bringing more value to our clients. We emphasize education for the Realtors and encourage them to earn the many real estate designations to improve their knowledge.
Can you tell our readers where they can find you and your realtors? We can be found at 515 S. Delaware, which is one block east of the community center near downtown Bartlesville. We love our convenient location and hope everyone will come by and see our new buffalo! Our web site is www.McAnawRealtors.com, and our office phone number is 918-337-0711.
